Weight Training


RATIONALE

There is a shortage of weight trainers in Jamaica. These trained personnel must have knowledge and practical skills to demonstrate exercises and to plan and implement programmes to improve strength and power.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to equip weight trainers with the knowledge to guide athletes in proper weight training techniques to ensure proper strength and power development. They will have knowledge of the basic Anatomy and Physiology as well as the concepts, training principles and components of training. They will also be taught to develop and administer a weight training programme.

Hours: 45 hours
Proposed Day (s): Friday & Saturday
Proposed time: Friday 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m
                Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
