DEFENDING Inter-collegiate senior netball champions, the University of West Indies (UWI), suffered their first defeat in two years in the competition, losing 48-81 to G.C. Foster in a top-of-the-table Group A encounter at UWI on Thursday.
As a result, the St Catherine-based team - led by national player Nicole Aiken-Pinnock - remains the only unbeaten team in Inter-collegiate netball this season.
A number of new students were present at the GC Foster College Lecture Theatre on Sunday September 2, 2018 where the First Chapel Service for the School year was held.
The aim of the service was to welcome new students and to invite the presence of the Lord in the Campus. The theme of the service was, “The Journey Continues”. Present were Chairman, Mr. David Mais who encouraged the student to work hard and keep the flag of GC Foster College flying high and Visiting preacher, Minister Patrick Smith encouraged the students that through hard work and having a winning mindset, they could achieve greatness. The student Union Executive Members were lauded for their hard work in orientating new students for the new academic year.
The college family looks forward to a new year of great possibilities as it keeps the excellence of learning in the minds of the students who will endeavor to let the light of G.C. Foster College ever shine.
On June 9, 2018, the G.C. Foster College Library received a donation of books from Dr. Peter Latchman, a past student of the College.
Dr. Latchman, presently a professor at Southern Connecticut State University, expressed his appreciation to the College by donating a large collection of books from several different subject areas from his personal library.
The G.C. Foster College appreciates this gift and welcomes other past students and organizations to support the College through this and other initiatives.
